Loot Rarity and Pickup Visibility Design Guide

A practical guide to using color, light, sound, and distance-based UI so players can instantly read which drops matter most.

Quick Start

Start with a tiny working version

Players do not ignore good loot only because drop rates are wrong. They often ignore it because the game failed to communicate value at the moment of pickup.

Build it in small code pieces

1. 値を用意する

Inspectorで変更できる値と表示先を置きます。

TopicPrototypeTutorial.cs
csharp
    [SerializeField] private TextMeshProUGUI statusText;
    [SerializeField] private float currentStep = 1f;
    [SerializeField] private float changedValue = 2f;
    [SerializeField] private float resultScore = 3f;

2. 状態を変える

ボタンを押した時に、1つだけ状態を進めます。

TopicPrototypeTutorial.cs
csharp
    public void NextStep()
    {
        step = (step + 1) % 3;
        var label = step == 0 ? "準備状態" : step == 1 ? "操作中" : "結果表示";
        if (statusText != null)
        {
            statusText.text = $"{label}\ncurrentStep={currentStep:0.##}\nchangedValue={changedValue:0.##}\nresultScore={resultScore:0.##}";
        }

3. 画面に表示する

変わった結果を画面に出して確認します。

TopicPrototypeTutorial.cs
csharp
        if (statusText != null)
        {
            statusText.text = $"{label}\ncurrentStep={currentStep:0.##}\nchangedValue={changedValue:0.##}\nresultScore={resultScore:0.##}";
        }
        Debug.Log($"Loot Rarity and Pickup Visibility Design Guide: {label}");

Complete script

TopicPrototypeTutorial.cs
csharp
using UnityEngine;
using TMPro;

public class TopicPrototypeTutorial : MonoBehaviour
{
    [SerializeField] private TextMeshProUGUI statusText;
    [SerializeField] private float currentStep = 1f;
    [SerializeField] private float changedValue = 2f;
    [SerializeField] private float resultScore = 3f;

    private int step;

    public void NextStep()
    {
        step = (step + 1) % 3;
        var label = step == 0 ? "準備状態" : step == 1 ? "操作中" : "結果表示";
        if (statusText != null)
        {
            statusText.text = $"{label}\ncurrentStep={currentStep:0.##}\nchangedValue={changedValue:0.##}\nresultScore={resultScore:0.##}";
        }
        Debug.Log($"Loot Rarity and Pickup Visibility Design Guide: {label}");
    }
}

Inspector

Connect the UI reference in the Inspector, then use the button to confirm each value changes.
